Tall, noble hearted, and not the brightest, Val is a man who seeks to embody the knights in shining armor children read of in fairytales. The son of a minor noble house of Ishgard, he is always dressed to impress or outfitted in his iconic verdant armor. Despite his scars-trophies from his time wielding both the lance and the sword-he is noted to be quite handsome, with a sharp gaze, tongue, and humor to boot. Still, there lies a darkness behind those eyes, and a sadness that not many know of...
Story
Val is ever one to brag-but the one who speaks the most of his youth is his father, Astor Chevalier-a traditional man who loves both Halone and his late wife in equal measure. The old man speaks often of how Val grew up a rockous and rowdy youth, overeager to prove himself, ever the brave little fighter. His demeanor took after his father, a retired knight nowadays, though his looks he apparently stole from his mother, with dark hair and skin both softer than most who bear both sword and shield.It is why the old man says he cannot bear to look at the young man for too long, nor why the portraits of the three of them have all since been removed from the walls of the manor. Too painful, as wonderful as the memories are. Though he is always one of the loudest cheering in the stands whenever his son takes up his weapons, blade or lance, to compete in the tournaments that have since celebrated the end of the war.Strange then, that neither speak much-if any-about those dour years of blood and battle. The strife leaves many within the city wordless yes, but one would think they had nothing to say at all given how quickly they both move on from the subject... Their home seems ever quiet, devoid of a large family, never hosting events, sometimes even rumored to be haunted. Val often seeks warmth elsewhere, coming alive in conversation and companionship among others. It does however leave a nasty line of rumors in his wake however, as many will attest to his habit of flirting...

Perhaps your character recognizes him or wishes to challenge the famed Verdant Knight?➵ A son of a minor noble house of Ishgard, he is often found amongst those of high class or good social standing. Your character could have met him at a ball, a party, or other notable event.➵ Gossip and rumor tell of the knight's flirtatious nature, often chatting up others who radiate a sense of competency, nobility and strength. Perhaps you were featured in one?➵ Val loves nature, and takes every chance he can to go out traveling, foraging, or just taking in the greenery far beyond the snowy tundra surrounding Ishgard. Maybe your character has happened by him on one of these outings?➵ Despite claiming to be a former Temple Knight, none claim to recognize him from years ago, and stranger yet, he seems personally close with many from the Shroud...➵ Has something cropped up to do with voidsent? Mention of such dark and nefarious forces are always sure to get a reaction out of Val, who is quick to pick up his sword and charge headfirst towards the danger.
